With 7,500 feet of frontage along the Connecticut River and 582 picturesque acres, the CY property in Haddam Neck, Connecticut is an exceptional real estate opportunity.
The Connecticut Yankee Atomic Power Plant has been fully decommissioned and the former plant area has been released by the Nuclear Regulatory Commission for unrestricted use. The Connecticut Department of Environmental Protection has issued a Stewardship Permit to CY authorizing post closure groundwater monitoring on the property, the final stage in decommissioning of the property.
Connecticut Yankee Atomic Power Company has authorized an Expression of Interest (EOI) process to identify organizations and entities interested in acquiring all or a portion of the 582.8 acre property in Haddam Neck, Connecticut. This process is being administered by Vita Nuova, LLC.
This EOI process will solicit submittals from experienced, financially sound, and capable organizations. CY seeks submittals from interested developers, non-profits and other organizations.
This EOI process is an important step in meeting CYs fiduciary responsibilities to its investors and ratepayers. All land disposition decisions will be reviewed by The Connecticut Department of Public Utility Control and the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission.
The EOI process will occur between late March and June, 2008. Interested organizations will receive a packet of information and have an opportunity to tour the property. Respondents will be asked to demonstrate their financial viability, qualifications, and land use interests.
